Communication Training
Time and place:: Friday September 13th, 9:30, Room U2-8b
About the workshop:
“Most conversations are simply monologues delivered in the presence of a witness.” – Margaret Miller Have you ever found yourself in a situation where communication was tiring? If you are like me: Probably yes. The time solving conflicts or mis-communication could instead have been filled with connection, ease and productivity. This workshop will help you communicate in a way, where others will more likely understand you the way you actually meant it. You will be provided with the skills to pay greater attention to the needs of the other side. As a result, communication will be less exhausting. The goal of this workshop is understanding and applying the mechanics behind successful human interaction. It’s based on M. B. Rosenberg’s NVC-method. Specifically, we will train to differentiate between observation and valuation, needs and strategies as well as requests and demands. Furthermore, we will focus meaning of straight intentions and clarity for successful communication. At KDE we will apply these ideas to your everyday (work-)life, with a main focus on communicating via mailing lists. This workshop will have short inputs and a lot of interactive methods – verbal and in writing – so you can transfer the knowledge easily. Training will be held in English.
About the trainer:
I’m Tilman Krakau from Berlin. I believe that all meaningful teamwork is based on connection and togetherness. My vision is a social interaction, where we meet each other at eyelevel. No matter what. For this purpose, I create innovative trainings (open and inhouse) for people who work with people. Since 2013 I work as adult trainer being moderator, facilitator and coach in cooperation with educational institutions, universities, schools and SMEs. Also, I work as train-the-trainer for didactics, successful teaching and inner attitude. I studied Education and Business Education at HU Berlin.
