A list of cool features in KDE software that might form the basis of talking points or demonstrations of KDE software:

  • KWin desktop effects, particularly the useful ones
  • Kopete - “You’ve got all your chat accounts in one app?”
  • Amarok - Wikipedia, Flickr, YouTube, Magnatune etc integration
  • Digikam - it’s just so cool all round, but the various export plugins are killer features
  • KRunner - a real swiss army knife (perhaps more for a technical audience

Marble - very visual anyway, but fire up the OpenStreetMap view and people want it

  • Gwenview – it’s just so shiny, particularly in full-screen mode
