It does not implement the logic for doing the calculations, rather it makes use of softwares/languages like Qalculate, R, python etc to do that. Like for instance , the communication with Qalculate happens using the Qalcuate's C API where as communication with R happens using the combination of DBUS protocol and R Api.

The aim of this project is to make use of a common communication protocol to talk to different back ends. Since all the softwares/languages have a command line interface, it was decided to use CLI for the communication and hence to achieve this we decided to make use of QProcess API.

What's Done

Ported the following backends to QProcess

1. Qalculate

2. Lua

3. R

What's Left

The only back end that's left to be ported is Python
