Who are we?

KDE-India is a group of volunteers who are a part of this community, and have been meeting up at various FOSS events in India and abroad. Over the last few years, there has been a substantial increase in contributions to KDE from India to various avenues like coding, localization, marketing, website/infrastructure maintenance etc. There has also been a lot of contributions as a part of programmes like Google Summer of Code and Season of KDE.

What is conf.kde.in

conf.kde.in is a platform for KDE and Qt developers/contributors/enthusiasts to come together, share their knowledge, contribute, learn and play. Most importantly, it's an excellent arena for collaboration and exchange of ideas, skills and thoughts among like minded people passionate about Open Source in general.

KDE conferences in India, organized by KDE-India go by the name conf.kde.in (abbreviated as cKi) and have usually attract high quality participants and speakers alike. It was first held in 2011, as a 5 day event in Bangalore, attracting around 300 participants and turned out be a huge success and it introduced a lot of people to Open Source and the consequent editions aim to take this forward.

What is KDE.in

Since at least summer 2023, KDE.in is no longer actively maintained and the link redirects to kde.org.

KDE.in is the community website for the KDE India team. It publishes information, events and media content for anything and everything related to KDE and its Indian volunteers. KDE.in is maintained by the KDE.in website administrators.

Joining the website team

Website team members are required to have the following skill set:

  • PHP
  • MySQL
  • HTML / CSS
  • JavaScript knowledge would be a plus
