In 2013 10,000 PCs were purchased with KDE Plasma4. Since 2015 Taiwan launched a 3-year project to migrate Open Document Foundation and LibreOffice (and a new 3-year following project is ongoing). During these years we communicated many organizations including government and schools and we see another chance -- There are still a number of users using Windows XP. They have the will to change, but don't want to pay the licenses to Microsoft anymore. Does KDE have chances? What will KDE (not only Plasma) need? I'll give some thoughts from what I learned from the LibreOffice community. |
