amaroK and Magnatune Announce Live CD Collaboration
The amaroK development team announced the release of version 1.3 of the amaroK Live CD and its new website. It's a true example of the collaboration between Open Source Software and Creative Commons licensed music. Based upon PCLinuxOS, amaroK Live targets to demonstrate the innovative audio player amaroK. The live CD includes a copy of the amaroK music player bundled with tracks from Magnatune.com, an independent online record label that sells music under the Creative Commons license. Based on the principle that "We are not evil," the company offers fair-trade music to consumers by equally sharing all revenue from the sale of albums with artists and allowing artists to retain full rights to their music.
amaroK Live 1.3 can be downloaded via BitTorrent, FTP and HTTP. You'll also find some Screenshots on amaroklive.com. More information is available in this article.
