Introduction

During KDE UX 2011 sprint, we discussed several improvements for K3b, one of them being a new Welcome screen.

Content

The Welcome screen should take the full content of the window and provides the user with action buttons to start common tasks:

  • Copy a CD
  • Create a data CD
  • Create an audio CD
  • Burn an ISO

Drag'n'drop support

When the user drags urls over the welcome screen, it should show drop areas adapted to the dragged content: for example if they are only mp3 the welcome screen would provide two drop targets:

  • Create a data CD
  • Create an audio CD

To be refined in Discussion page

  • What about providing actions when a medium is provided?
