Requirements

Universal offline usage deployment

In the basic Marble package we want to provide a default set of placemarks for offline usage (e.g. 20000 locations). Placemark names should be available as part of the package. The problem is that we can't include all translations (>100) for all cities in a single package. However for deployment we'd like to have a single package that allows for universal usage and ease of deployment.

So we'd like to have an id and two names stored as part of the basic package:

  • The english name of the city: e.g. "Munich", "Shanghai", "Malaga")
  • The native name in the native representation that is used inside the country that the city is located in: "München", "上海", "Málaga".
