Mageia provides Amarok by default if the system is installed using KDE as desktop environment.
If Amarok is not present for whatever reason, it can be installed using the graphical tool to Install & Remove software (rpmdrake), or typing in a terminal as root the following:
su urpmi amarok

- Mageia 5: Amarok 2.8
- Mageia 4: Amarok 2.8
- Mageia 3: Amarok 2.7.1. This version of Mageia is no longer supported.
- Mageia 2: Amarok 2.5.0. This version of Mageia is no longer supported.
- Mageia 1: Amarok 2.4.1. This version of Mageia is no longer supported.
Phonon Backends
Phonon-gstreamer is installed by default, but phonon-vlc is also available. To install phonon-vlc just type in a terminal as root:
su urpmi phonon-vlc
Phonon-xine is also available, but not recommended.
